Castle Quarter is proud to be part of this year’s GoGoSafari sculpture trail, in aid of the charity Break, coming to Norwich and Norfolk this summer. 

Before the big five sculptures are let loose on our streets in June, and Norwich comes alive with beautifully decorated animals, Castle Quarter is planning a safari themed craft workshop on Thursday 10^th April.  

“We’re going big and bold with our celebrations”

In collaboration with Break, children can take part in this free creative event, where they will design safari themed bunting which could go on display in the centre this summer.

Gemma Hyde is Castle Quarter’s marketing and administration manager and says, “We’re going big and bold with our celebrations for the GoGoSafari trail this summer and have plans to decorate the centre with bright, colourful, and jungle-themed bunting. But we need some help from young creatives. Our very own Rhino, named I Spy, will be moving in soon, and we want them to feel right at home. 

“Let your imagination run wild with bright ideas”

“We’re looking for arty, creative children to help us design jungle-themed bunting, to help decorate the centre. 

“At our craft workshop, which takes place on Thursday 10^th April, children will design their own jungle themed bunting. You can be as colourful as your dare and create a bold design featuring all the animals from the trail – lions, giraffes, gorillas, rhinos and elephants – or let your imagination run wild with bright ideas.”

After the workshop, Castle Quarter will post all the bunting designs on to their Facebook page and ask people to vote for their favourite. The creators of the top five most voted for designs will each receive a £50 voucher to spend in Castle Quarter and their artwork will be transformed into real bunting, ready to decorate the centre this summer. 

Gemma adds; “As we get prepared to celebrate, we’re looking forward to seeing some fiercely fabulous bunting designs. The winning designs will encapsulate the spirit of the GoGoSafari trail and go on display for all to see as we create a party-themed, safari atmosphere in Castle Quarter this summer.”  

The GoGoSafari wild and wonderful bunting workshop takes place on:

• Thursday 10th April
• 10am – 4pm
• White Lion Square, outside Boots on level 1, at Castle Quarter

For anyone who can’t make it on the day, there’s still a chance to take part in this creative competition.
