A group of year 5 children at Costessey Primary School have been working in partnership with Antidote Gamers and Street Child charities on a Design and Technology project called ‘Play for Good’.
The project hopes to raise awareness of the work Street Child does to support schools and children around the world and hopefully raise some funds too. In teams, the children worked together to research and design a new school in Nigeria. They then used Minecraft software to build their schools following feedback from real-life games developers and Street Child representatives. The children have had to think carefully about what local resources would be available and the types of environmental risks there may be while creating their designs.
They will be filmed presenting their designs so that you can vote for your favourite and the winning team will win some gaming and Street Child goodies. Keep an eye on Costessey Primary’s Facebook page for the finished presentations and details on how to vote and donate.
